Her undergraduate degree and dermatology residency were completed at Howard University in Washington, DC. She continued her education with a highly regarded dermatopathology fellowship at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, MD, where she focused on the diagnosis and management of skin cancer. Today, she is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (FAAD).

Dr. Lauren Payne is originally from Columbus, Ohio. She went to Hampton Universityin Virginia followed by Georgia State University where she obtained a Master’s degree in Neurobiology and Behavior. She earned her Medical Doctorate from Morehouse School of Medicine and completed her Dermatology Residency Training at Howard University Hospital.
Dr. Payne is currently Assistant Clinical Faculty of Dermatology at George Washington (GW) University and Howard University. She is also proud to serve our military veterans in her role as Director of Teledermatology at the Washington DC VA hospital. She enjoys mentoring and teaching dermatology residents and pre-med students, and is Vice President of The Comprehensive Medical Mentoring Program, a non-profit organization geared towards mentoring and providing support for minority students interested in pursuing careers in medicine and healthcare. Freida is a licensed esthetician with 13 years of experience working in Maryland. She started her career, working at a wellness center, treating the skin with a holistic approach.
Her gentle, soft-spoken manners help her clients relax and trust her.
She believes that healthy, beautiful skin is achievable for everyone.
Freida has certifications in chemical peels, lymphatic drainage, microdermabrasion, and several massage techniques.
