How does Keravive work?

KeraVive is a cosmetic treatment designed to improve the health and appearance of the scalp and hair. It is a great non-invasive option that addresses issues like dry scalp, dandruff, hair thinning, and overall hair health. KeraVive typically involves a multi-step process that combines various technologies and products to achieve best results.

It’s important to note that the specific components and techniques used in KeraVive treatments can vary depending on the individual’s unique needs. While some people may see improvements in scalp health and hair appearance after a single treatment, others may require multiple sessions for optimal results.

What areas can be treated with KeraVive?

KeraVive is primarily designed as a scalp and hair treatment, and it is typically used to address issues related to the scalp and the overall health of the hair. KeraVive is mainly a cosmetic treatment focused on scalp health and hair appearance. By itself, it is not a medical treatment for severe hair loss conditions like male pattern baldness or alopecia. If you have significant hair loss issues, more specialized medical treatments and interventions may be necessary, and you should consult your dermatologist.

The specific areas treated with KeraVive may vary depending on the individual’s scalp and hair concerns. As always, it’s crucial to have a consultation with a qualified practitioner to determine the most suitable treatment plan based on your unique needs and goals.

What benefits can I expect from KeraVive?

The benefits you can expect from KeraVive treatments may vary from person to person, depending on your specific scalp and hair concerns, the severity of those concerns, and how your body responds to the treatment. However, there are many potential benefits, including improved scalp health, reduced dandruff, enhanced hair quality and hair growth, among other things.

The extent of these benefits can vary from person to person. Some individuals may see noticeable improvements after just one KeraVive treatment, while others may require multiple sessions to see their desired results. Additionally, ongoing at-home maintenance with recommended products may be necessary to maintain the benefits over time.

Before undergoing KeraVive or any scalp and hair treatment, it’s essential to consult with a qualified dermatologist to discuss your specific concerns and goals and provide you with personalized recommendations based on your unique needs.

What should I expect before and after having my KeraVive treatment?

Before treatment, we recommend that you arrive for your appointment with dry, clean hair without any styling products.

The treatment itself is relatively quick, pain-free and some might even say, relaxing.  It lasts about 30 minutes, during which time you experience a cool, suction sensation.

Post treatment, it is important that you allow your scalp and hair to dry completely (up to 1 hour) before applying heat and/or hair styling products.  We also advise that you wait at least 12 hours before washing your hair.

WHAT ARE THE RISKS AND SIDE EFFECTS?

KeraVive treatments are generally considered safe and well-tolerated. However, like any cosmetic or medical procedure, there can be potential risks and side effects.  These include: mild discomfort, temporary redness, skin sensitivity, allergic reactions, infection, exacerbation of preexisting conditions and hair shedding.

It’s important to have a thorough consultation with a qualified healthcare professional before undergoing KeraVive treatment to assess your suitability for the treatment, discuss potential risks and side effects, and answer any questions you may have.

Sticking to post-treatment care instructions and following up with your practitioner for any necessary follow-up appointments can help reduce the risk of complications and getting the best results from your treatment.

If you experience any unexpected or severe side effects following a KeraVive treatment, contact your healthcare provider immediately for guidance and appropriate care.

CAN KERAVIVE BE COMBINED WITH OTHER TREATMENTS?

KeraVive treatments may be combined with a variety of other treatments, depending on your specific scalp and hair concerns.  These include hair treatments we offer at Eternal Dermatology, like PRP, Keralase, Kerafactor microneedling and topical products.
