Kerafactor: A Rejuvenating Way To Fight Hair Loss

kerafactor

People suffering from hair loss come to us every day for a solution. They’re at their wit’s end and need something that works. Hair loss is a delicate condition that needs the right treatment for the right cause. With Kerafactor and our KeraFuse scalp treatment, you can see awesome results in just a few months.

One strand too many

Hair loss, also called alopecia, is a common occurrence that happens to all of us. If you comb, wash, or dry your hair and some strands pop out, that’s your hair’s natural shedding process. On average, we shed about 50 to 100 strands of hair a day. With healthy growth, we barely notice these since the hair is growing at its expected rate.

However, if your hair is not growing as it should, you will notice thinning hair or a receding hairline. Some people lose larger clumps of hair. If this is consistently happening and making you conscious of your hair loss, you may have an underlying reason.

Here’s why you’re losing your hair

Excess hair loss can be distressing and impact the quality of your life. More than 50% of women and up to 85 % of men will experience excess hair loss at some point in time. First, your dermatologist will categorize your hair loss under one of several types. From there, one or more factors could be causing that type of hair loss. The types of hair loss include:

  • Androgenetic alopecia: This is the most common type of gradual hair loss, which is genetically linked. You may hear the terms male-pattern baldness or female-pattern hair loss.
  • Telogen Effluvium: Large amounts of hair follicles fall out, but the growth phase does not trigger fast enough. Telogen effluvium happens due to factors like stress, pregnancy, surgery, and vitamin deficiencies.
  • Anagen Effluvium: Happens due to medical reasons like chemotherapy.
  • Scarring Alopecia: Inflammation or underlying health conditions destroy the hair follicles. This term covers a range of conditions, including CCCA, which can happen due to tight hairstyles or harmful hair products.
  • Alopecia Areata: The immune system attacks the hair follicles, resulting in significant hair loss or baldness. In some cases, the condition can affect eyebrows and body hair.

There is a range of techniques, treatments, and medications your dermatologist can use to treat your hair loss. While the results vary with each procedure, we’ve seen fantastic success stories using a product called Kerafactor, combined with our unique KeraFuse Scalp Treatment.

What is Kerafactor?

Kerafactor is a unique proprietary serum that can significantly improve hair growth. Dermatologists and cosmetic surgeons alike have seen the power of this treatment for thousands of patients over the years. The product’s formula has seven different biosynthetic growth factors. These are the core hormones and other proteins in the body that govern hair growth.

These factors support the hair during the anagen phase. At this phase, your hair is constantly growing, lasting between 2 and 7 years. When you’re experiencing hair loss, there is a lack of growth in this phase (or no growth at all). Kerafactor seeks to ramp up growth here by targeting dead or dormant hair follicles. The serum encases each of the seven growth proteins in a special nanoliposome carrier to improve delivery to the scalp. This extra step means maximum absorption and effect.

Advantages of Kerafactor

What makes Kerafactor is that it releases the formula only when it reaches the hair duct. This process means the maximum amount of treatment is released at the optimum time. Kerafactor also goes beyond treating symptoms of hair loss like low DHT. Instead, it attempts to treat the underlying cause of hair loss by restoring synthetic versions of these lost proteins. There are also no harsh added chemicals like sulfates or parabens, making it safe to use.

Who can benefit from this product?

Kerafactor treatment works best for cases of androgenetic alopecia. Male-pattern baldness

occurs at the hairline and crown. Female pattern baldness may not happen at the hairline but is more prominent at the crown or center of the scalp. The treatment can restore hair growth and thickness in these cases. Kerafactor can also help some stress-related hair loss cases. Your dermatologist will need to perform a detailed assessment to determine if this treatment is right for you. Other common use for Kerafactor is in scarring alopecia like CCCA (Central Centrifugal Cicatricial Alopecia).

Rejuvenating your hair with our KeraFuse Scalp Treatment

If you’re a candidate for Kerafactor, your dermatologist will apply the serum to your scalp in a simple, non-invasive procedure. The treatment takes just a few minutes, meaning you can schedule your session during your lunch break at work or hop in on the weekend.

There are a few ways you can receive Kerafactor. With our KeraFuse Scalp treatment, you’ll give your scalp a much-needed rejuvenation while addressing your hair loss concerns. With repeated treatment, you’ll see exceptional results and regain your confidence.

What to expect during treatment

Like the skin on your face, your scalp has skin that needs proper blood circulation. At Eternal Dermatology + Aesthetics, we combine proven techniques with Kerafactor to improve circulation and stimulate hair growth.

The KeraFuse procedure starts with a Dermasweep session on your scalp. The Dermasweep device has a special “brush” tip that breaks up dead cells and gently exfoliates the skin. Then the Kerafactor serum is infused into the skin, using a gentle, painless microneedling device, known as Aquagold. Aquagold is a specially patented applicator with fine gold-plated needles attached. The Kerafactor goes into the dispenser, and then the needles penetrate the skin at a 600-micron depth. This step ensures the solution goes straight to the affected hair follicles. The result is improved blood flow, collagen production and hair regrowth.

After your Kerafactor or Kerafuse scalp treatment, you can resume your normal daily activities right away. There’s no downtime.

Adding laser therapy to your treatment

We can improve the effectiveness of your Kerafactor treatment using laser and light therapy. Red light therapy has been shown to increase circulation and reduce inflammation of the scalp. Lasers are powerful tools used by dermatologists to treat conditions like acne scars, hyperpigmentation, and even hair loss. For your Kerafactor treatment, the laser creates a tiny channel through the top layers of your skin. This allows the serum to penetrate deeper levels of your skin, making it more effective.

Does Kerafactor work for hair growth?

For Kerafactor, we recommend a series of 6 treatments spaced 2-3 weeks apart. Our KeraFuse Scalp Treatment is perfect for anyone that wants to keep their scalp clean and exfoliated, with an added Kerafactor boost. The KeraFuse treatment is ideal as a monthly scalp rejuvenation and hair growth maintenance treatment. While results may vary,  patients who use Kerafactor consistently see at least 40% improvement in hair growth after 12 weeks.

What are the benefits?

If you choose Kerafactor and our KeraFuse Scalp Treatment, you should expect some fantastic benefits:

  • Increased hair growth and decreased hair loss.
  • Non-invasive treatment applied by your dermatologist or esthetician in less than an hour.
  • Inexpensive treatment option compared to surgery or other procedures.
  • Our scalp process provides additional benefits like increased blood circulation.

Is Kerafactor better than PRP?

Platelet-Rich Plasma or PRP Therapy is another effective hair loss treatment. With PRP, your dermatologist will take a small amount of you blood and separate out the plasma. Plasma contains platelets,  stem cells and other growth factors that can help with healing and stimulate hair growth. The plasma is then injected into the scalp, around the bulbs of your hair follicles.

Controlled trials have not yet been performed to compare PRP and Kerafactor.  At Eternal Dermatology, we often combine both PRP and Kerafactor treatments to ensure that our patients get the best chance of healthy growing hair.

Aftercare with other Kerafactor products

There may be mild redness of the scalp which should subside after 24 hours. Do not wash your scalp for 48 hours after your Kerafactor treatment. After two weeks, you should return for your follow-up session. Remember that the hair will take some time to re-grow, so self-care during that period is essential.

You can add Kerafactor shampoo, scalp treatment, or other dermatologist-recommended hair growth products. These products contain a lower dosage of growth factors than the treatment in the clinic. Consistent use helps to maintain growth and hair health.

Other ways you can save your hair

Our KeraFuse Scalp Treatment is an effective method for healthy scalp and hair. However, we will often use the treatment as part of a holistic plan to give you the best results. Some of the treatment options include:

  • Minoxidil, also known as Rogaine. It can slow hair loss and stimulate hair growth. You can get minoxidil in topical liquid or shampoo forms, or componded with other topical hair growth agents like spironolactone, metformin or finasteride.
  • Finasteride or Propecia is a prescription oral medication for men. It helps improve hair growth but must be taken indefinitely to see results.
  • Other forms of medicine including spironolactone or corticosteroids.
  • Progesterone for women may help with hair growth, especially after menopause.
  • Lifestyle changes can help with your hair’s overall health. Start with assessing your diet, water intake, and vitamins. Deficiencies of iron and zinc can contribute to hair loss, so take a supplement under the guidance of your doctor.

Let’s help you re-grow your hair

Hair loss can impact the quality of your life, but you can restore your hair with Kerafactor. The topical treatment can restore missing proteins that happen over time. When combined with our microneedling or the Aquagold device, you’ll begin to see results in just 2 to 4 months.
